Jay-Z will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Sunday, February 14, 2027, the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced on Monday, October 26.

The news came during the Cowboys and Eagles game on ESPN’s Monday Night Football, NFL.com reported. It landed two days after he walked off the same Inglewood field, where he closed his JAŸ-Z 30 anniversary run with Too Short, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre on October 24.

Who Chose Jay-Z for the Halftime Show

Jay-Z’s company, Roc Nation, has produced the halftime show since it partnered with the NFL in 2019, according to NFL.com. The man who has helped book the stage for seven years is now on it. Puck first reported the choice, and Sports Illustrated carried the report on October 21 while it was still unconfirmed.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement reported by Variety that when the league first reached its agreement with Roc Nation, he had “just one request,” that Jay-Z “take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him.”

“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in the statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of music and international content, said Apple was “so thrilled that he will be taking that stage himself this year.”

Who Is Producing the Show and Where to Watch

Roc Nation will executive produce the show and Hamish Hamilton will direct, Variety reported. The game airs on ESPN, ABC and Disney+, with NFL+ on mobile devices. ESPN Deportes and Disney+ carry the Spanish-language telecast, and Univision has a separate Spanish-language presentation.

Jay-Z and SoFi, a Velvet Timeline

By Velvet Hollywood’s own count, the halftime show will be the third big night tied to Jay-Z at SoFi, and it falls 110 days after the announcement.

The audience bar is high. Variety reported that Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 show averaged 133.5 million viewers and that Bad Bunny’s show this February averaged 128.2 million. The JAŸ-Z 30 run marked 30 years since Reasonable Doubt and 25 years since The Blueprint, and Velvet previewed the Inglewood dates before they played.
