Privacy
Effective October 2, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Velvet Hollywood collects when you read the site, sign up for Last Call or write to us, and what we do with it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- What you send us. If you subscribe to Last Call we receive your email address. If you use the contact or advertising forms we receive your name, email address, company if you add one, and your message.
- Technical information. Like every website, our host receives standard request data when pages load, such as IP address, browser type, device type, the page requested and the time of the request.
- A preference on your device. If you switch the lights on or off, your browser stores that choice in local storage on your own device. It is never sent to us.
We do not run advertising trackers, analytics cookies or social media pixels.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter you asked for.
- To reply to tips, corrections, partnership requests and other messages.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to prevent spam and abuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
Who else is involved
- Netlify hosts the site and processes form submissions on our behalf.
- Unsplash serves the photographs on our pages, so your browser requests images directly from Unsplash and Unsplash receives standard request data.
- Linked sites. Stories link to outlets, venues, ticket sellers and brands. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for them.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep messages for as long as we need them to respond and for reasonable record keeping, then delete them.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from Last Call at any time using the link in every edition. You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it or delete it by writing to us through the contact page.
California residents
Velvet Hollywood covers Los Angeles, so we want California readers to know their rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion, to request correction and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. See Your Privacy Choices to make a request.
Children
The site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and we limit who can see form submissions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
