Standards
Velvet Hollywood covers famous names and the rooms they fill in Los Angeles after dark. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Sources you can see
Every story is built from public reporting, official announcements and primary sources such as venue, museum, label and brand pages. We list them at the end of each piece under Reporting draws on, so you can read further and check our work.
Accuracy
We check names, dates, prices and quotes against those sources before we publish. Quotes are reproduced word for word and attributed to the person and outlet they came from. When details are not confirmed, such as an opening date, we say so.
What we cover and what we skip
We write about shows, openings, launches, honors and the culture around them. We do not chase rumors about private lives, relationships or health, and we do not publish private addresses.
Photography
Photographs come from Unsplash and are treated in our violet palette. They set the mood and do not depict the specific people or events named in a story unless a caption says so.
Independence and labels
Editorial decisions are made by our editors. If we ever publish sponsored or partner content, it will be clearly labeled as such.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it. See our corrections policy.
