Jay-Z closed his JAŸ-Z 30 anniversary run at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Saturday, October 24, bringing out Too Short, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre on the second of two sold-out nights, Consequence reported.

The two nights capped a limited run that also played New York, London and Paris, marking 30 years since Reasonable Doubt and 25 years since The Blueprint. Complex reported that the run opened July 10 with three Yankee Stadium shows that drew a combined 136,000 people, and that these are his first solo live shows since the 4:44 Tour in 2017. Velvet previewed the Inglewood dates when the second night was added.

Who Joined Jay-Z on Saturday Night

Too Short, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre were the Saturday guests. Too Short came out early for “Blow the Whistle” and shouted out the Bay Area, according to Complex. Snoop Dogg followed with “Murder Was the Case.” Dr. Dre then joined Snoop for a run through “The Next Episode,” “California Love,” “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang” and “Still D.R.E.”

HotNewHipHop’s setlist counts 38 songs plus the encore, opening with “The Watcher 2” and moving through “99 Problems,” “Empire State of Mind” and “Big Pimpin’” near the end.

Los Angeles also got a tribute to its own. Consequence reported that Jay-Z worked “Hussle & Motivate” into “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)” and used the instrumental from “Last Time That I Checc’d” during “On to the Next One,” both songs by Nipsey Hussle. Complex reported that he put Hussle’s image on the screens and called him “Nip the great.”

What He Said About the Crowd

Jay-Z also answered social media claims that the stadium had been empty and that tickets had been given away, Complex reported. Consequence quoted him telling the crowd, “People will tell you that nobody was in here tonight, but you got eyes, you can see.”

He followed it with a line that Consequence and Complex both reported. “Question everything in this world of AI,” he said.

How Friday Night Played

Friday’s guests were Scarface, John Legend and DJ Khaled. The Source reported that Scarface joined for “This Can’t Be Life” and his own “Mind Playing Tricks on Me,” and that Legend and Khaled came out for the closer, “GOD DID.” The outlet counted 33 entries on the opening night setlist, which began with “Hovi Baby,” and said Jay-Z wore custom looks by June Ambrose. Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, G-Eazy, Tia Mowry and Omari Hardwick were in the crowd, according to The Source.

The stadium’s event page listed the Saturday show, billed simply as JAŸ-Z 30, with an 8 p.m. start.
