Tuesday Nights on the Strip, Tiffany Haddish Leads the Comedy Store’s Horribly Funny
Haddish heads two stacked Main Room bills in October, then crosses to the Hollywood Improv for Comedy Crush on October 14.
Two Tuesdays on the Sunset Strip carry Tiffany Haddish’s name at the top. On October 6 and October 13, she will lead the bill for Horribly Funny, an 8 p.m. show in the Main Room of the Comedy Store at 8433 Sunset Boulevard.
The company is heavy. The October 6 lineup lists Marc Maron, Jay Leno, Jeff Garlin, Russell Peters, Pauly Shore, Orny Adams, Jessica Keenan, Arsenio Hall, Sebastian Maniscalco, Jamie Kennedy and Dean Delray. A week later the bill lists Patton Oswalt, Natasha Leggero, Leno, Garlin, Iliza Shlesinger, Shore, Adam Ray, Daniel Franzese, Nicky Paris and Bobby Lee. The club notes that lineups are subject to change.
The next night she crosses to Melrose. On Wednesday, October 14, Haddish fronts Comedy Crush in the Main Room of the Hollywood Improv at 8162 Melrose Avenue, with Melissa Villasenor, Justine Marino, Avery Pearson and the just-added Trevor Wallace, plus guests still to be announced. “Tiffany Haddish is an Emmy, Grammy, and NAACP Image Award winner who has established herself as one of the most sought-after comedic actresses and performers,” the Improv’s billing reads.
Villasenor brings her own history to the room. “Melissa Villasenor broke barriers by becoming the first-ever Latina cast member of Saturday Night Live,” her billing notes.
The Comedy Store shows are 21 and over with a two-drink minimum, and phones and smartwatches go into Yondr cases on arrival until the show ends. The Improv show will start at half past seven, with tickets from $29.34, and the name on each ticket must match the ID presented at the venue.
