Six Shows on Hollywood Boulevard, Max Amini Sets a Dolby Theatre Record
The Laugh Factory alum turned arena comic plays two sets tonight and two more next Saturday in the Oscars house.

Max Amini learned the trade at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood and spent decades working the Los Angeles comedy circuit. This weekend he came back to the boulevard as a headliner of a different size. His six sold-out sets at the Dolby Theatre break a record for a consecutive multi-night stand-up run at the venue, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The run opened Saturday with shows at 4:30 and 8:30 p.m. Tonight he plays at 4 and 8 p.m., and he closes on Saturday, October 10, at 6 and 9:30 p.m., according to the theater. Tickets are priced from $50 to $255.
The turning point came online. Amini’s clips have drawn a combined 4.4 billion views across platforms, and he sold 200,000 tickets in 2025 alone, the Times reported. He has five comedy specials, with a sixth to be announced soon on a major streamer, and he has sold out the Forum, Madison Square Garden and the O2 Arena in London. The Dolby notes that his special Randomly Selected reached 16 million views in under six months, and that he founded and runs Abstraction Media.
Born in Tucson, Arizona, Amini is Iranian American, and he talks about his family and his own life onstage. The theater says he calls his live shows a United Nations of Comedy. “Politics aside, my brand is comedy of love,” he told the Times.
He told the paper that playing to arenas starts with knowing yourself. “First, you learn who you are as a performer,” he said. His rule for staying grounded is just as plain. “Not taking it for granted is very important.”
Comedy is busy all over town this fall, with Marc Maron working the Comedy Store before two nights at Largo.
