Two Arizona bands will fill the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, November 7, and one of them will play a 25-year-old album front to back. Jimmy Eat World brings Bleed American to the shell, with The Format alongside to mark its own anniversary.

The Hollywood Bowl’s event page says Jimmy Eat World is touring for the 25th anniversary of Bleed American, and that fans can expect the full album along with songs including “Sweetness,” “The Middle” and “Hear You Me.” The page says the record launched the Mesa, Arizona, quartet into global recognition. The Format, led by Nate Ruess and Sam Means, celebrates the 20th anniversary of its second album, Dog Problems, with the title track, “She Doesn’t Get It” and “The Compromise.” The page says The Format reunited after nearly two decades apart.

A First for the Stage

BroadwayWorld reported in July that the night marks the first time the two Arizona acts will perform together on the Bowl stage, and that it is one of only two full-album performances scheduled for The Format this year. The Linda Lindas are also listed on the Bowl’s bill.
