Warhol on Rodeo Drive, Celine Opens a Two-Level Beverly Hills Flagship
Michael Rider’s Celine fills 5,500 square feet at 309 North Rodeo with marble, bronze and works by Warhol and Fautrier.
Celine has a new two-level flagship at 309 North Rodeo Drive, and parts of it do not try very hard to feel like Los Angeles. Cultured said its mezzanine salons are “so Haussmannian, you’ll forget you’re in Los Angeles.”
The roughly 5,500-square-foot space was designed in-house under the creative director Michael Rider. There is Oyster Calacatta marble, antique bronze shelving, full-height mirrored panels and vintage wooden furniture, with a mezzanine laid in aged oak chevron.
The art does a lot of the talking. Works by Jean Fautrier, Andy Warhol, David Armstrong and Kai Nielsen hang throughout, and the Paris-based designer Matéo Garcia made a commissioned speaker installation with an L-shaped sofa with an undulating backrest.
The stock runs from women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and leather goods to Celine Haute Parfumerie, beauty, the Maison collection and silks, plus exclusive variations of the Nino, Luggage and Frame bags in precious leathers. The boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
