Faux Fur Under the Drones, Tracee Ellis Ross Leads the Lucas Museum Gala Looks
Bottega Veneta off the runway, archival Tom Ford for Saint Laurent and clear platforms filled Exposition Park’s opening night.

George Lucas and Mellody Hobson threw open the doors of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art on Saturday, September 19, three days before the public got in. The Hollywood Reporter counted Harrison Ford, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan in the crowd. The clothes told their own story.
Tracee Ellis Ross pulled her look straight off the runway. WWD reports she wore a Bottega Veneta dress in a textural faux fur from the house’s fall 2026 show, a boxy shape with a plunging neckline, adjusted slightly with Karla Welch, the stylist she often works with. On the runway the same piece came with black lace-up shoes and little else. Ross has been loyal to the label for a while, wearing its chunky Canalazzo pumps through almost her entire Black Mirror press tour. Up on the roof level, The Hollywood Reporter saw Tyler Perry laughing with her.
Kim Kardashian went to the archive, in a fall 2004 Saint Laurent dress from the Tom Ford years, embroidered in black and florals and trimmed in mint. It was her first time being styled by Law Roach. She added Oscar Heyman earrings, a Zydo ring and Jimmy Choo Max platforms with mirror-finish gold uppers and stiletto heels measuring 5.9 inches.
Doja Cat seemed to float. Her clear vinyl heels sat on 5 to 6 inch see-through platforms under a sweeping pink sheer gown by Nué Studios, worn with Maison H and Ananyah jewelry.
Keke Palmer chose a copper Saint Laurent minidress from Anthony Vaccarello’s spring 2024 collection, with McQueen pumps and a fringed Jimmy Choo bag, styled by Molly Dickson. Cynthia Erivo wore a strapless, velvety gown from Khaite’s fall 2026 collection. Janelle Monáe went sheer in beaded Antonio Grimaldi spring 2026 couture with a three-row pearl-drop necklace by Vivienne Westwood, and Miranda Kerr wore a black Rebecca Vallance midi crossed with a silver crystal lattice.
At 9 p.m. the guests climbed to the roof deck, where Oprah and Samuel L. Jackson introduced a drone show that lit the sky with Star Wars images. Back inside, the Black Eyed Peas took the stage, and Erivo and Orlando Bloom were among those dancing.
