The Chicks have been taking the long way across the country since September 30. It ends on Hollywood Boulevard. The trio of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer brings its Taking the Long Way 20th anniversary tour to the Dolby Theatre for three nights, starting Sunday, November 1.

The Live Nation announcement describes a run through intimate theatres, opening at the Fox Theatre in Detroit and passing through Chicago, Washington, New York, Nashville, San Antonio, Austin, Seattle and San Francisco. The band will perform the 2006 album in its entirety for the first time, then close each night with fan favorites from across its catalog. The announcement says of the record, “It is the album we needed then, and the album we need even more so now.”

A Third Night

When the tour was announced, Live Nation listed 16 dates ending with two nights at the Dolby, on November 1 and 2. The Dolby Theatre’s own page now lists a third show on Tuesday, November 3, which went on sale August 13. That makes the Tuesday show the last night of the tour on the published schedule.

The album earned the band five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year, according to Live Nation, part of a career total of 13. The Dolby page lists no opening act and no doors time.
