Thirty Years of Mellon Collie, The Smashing Pumpkins Close the Rats in a Cage Tour at the Kia Forum
Billy Corgan’s band ends its 27-date arena run in Inglewood on Thursday, November 12, with one set built entirely from Mellon Collie.

The Smashing Pumpkins will close their Rats in a Cage Tour at the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Thursday, November 12, the last night of a 30th anniversary run for the 1995 double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
The Forum is the final date on the tour, according to Pollstar, Blabbermouth and Ultimate Classic Rock. The band does have one more Southern California stop two days later, at the Darker Waves festival in Huntington Beach on November 14, which Ultimate Classic Rock describes as a separate festival date outside the tour.
What the Two Sets Will Hold
The show is built as two sets. Pollstar reported that the first set will contain only songs from Mellon Collie, staged in what the band called a highly theatrical setting. The second set reaches across the rest of the catalog, from the debut Gish to the 2024 album Aghori Mhori Mei, and changes from night to night.
Billy Corgan, the band’s singer and guitarist, framed the idea as a long-delayed one. “Staging a Mellon Collie-themed show is something we’ve discussed for over a decade,” Corgan said in the tour announcement, as Pollstar quoted him.
How Big the Tour Is
Pollstar counts 27 North American arena dates, produced by Live Nation, starting September 30 in Columbus, Ohio. The run moves through Brooklyn, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Seattle and Phoenix before the Inglewood finale. None of the three outlets named an opening act.
The Forum has its own small link to the band this season. When Sombr played the room in October, he was fresh off a Coachella duet with Corgan on “1979.”
