Ten Years on the South Lawn, Gryffin Takes Exposition Park for Two Nights
The dance producer brings his career-spanning Ten Years of Music show to Exposition Park, with a sold-out Saturday and an added Friday.
Gryffin brings the Los Angeles chapter of his Ten Years of Music. One Night. series to the South Lawn at Exposition Park, and one night has become two. The Saturday, October 24, show is sold out, according to Gryffin’s own ticketing page, which now lists a second night on Friday, October 23.
The Friday show carries a twist. AXS bills it as Gryffin with a B2B Alesso set, a back-to-back pairing of the two producers, while Saturday is billed as Gryffin alone. AXS lists both nights at 6:30 p.m.
The producer billed the series as a career-spanning live experience. According to the announcement, the set moves through his early melodic releases, his breakout moments and his later crossover records, reworked in a hybrid format that blends a DJ set with live instrumentation, alongside appearances from special vocal guests. None of those guests had been named for Los Angeles in the coverage Velvet reviewed.
Los Angeles was announced as the third of four installments. The run began with a San Francisco debut at the Cow Palace in Daly City in June, which sold out and added a second night, and New York follows at Under the K Bridge Park on October 17. The Concert Chronicles also lists Morrison, Colorado, on the series.
The San Francisco shows give a sense of what the format can hold. The Concert Chronicles reported that Gryffin performed on a 360-degree stage in the middle of the room and brought out guests including Julia Church, Zohara, Daya and Inéz, closing with Daya on “Feel Good.” He also announced a new album for the fall, titled Elements Part I.
The city has seen him on a smaller scale before. He played a sold-out show at The Shrine in 2019, where he filmed Gravity Live From The Shrine, and brought his Alive tour to Los Angeles State Historic Park in 2022. His single “Save My Love” with Kygo and Khalid arrived ahead of the announcement.
Ticket prices were not published in the coverage Velvet reviewed, so check AXS for the current face value rather than resale listings. The weekend sits just ahead of the Halloween rush on Los Angeles dance floors, which Velvet has also followed in Steve Aoki’s Halloween week at Academy LA.
