Gary Clark Jr. brings his guitar to the gilded room on South Broadway on Monday, October 26. Live Nation bills the night at the Orpheum Theatre as Gary Clark Jr. with special guest Xavier Lynn, and KPFK’s events calendar lists doors at 7 p.m. and the show at 8 p.m.

The Austin musician has won four Grammys, including Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Please Come Home” in 2014 and three awards in 2020 for This Land, among them Best Contemporary Blues Album and Best Rock Song. His most recent studio album, JPEG Raw, came out in March 2024.

The Road to Broadway

Barnburner reported in June that his headlining dates stretch “from the tail-end of summer into the fall.” The run took him to the Beacon Theatre in New York and the Crossroads Guitar Festival in Austin in September. The West Coast leg passes through Seattle, Portland, Sacramento and Oakland’s Fox Theater on October 23, then San Luis Obispo on October 24, before Los Angeles. Two nights at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay in San Diego follow on October 27 and 28. KPFK calls the Orpheum date “a final major West Coast show.”

Live Nation also lists Xavier Lynn on the first San Diego night.

The Orpheum keeps a strong October calendar. She and Him played two nights at the start of the month, and Discover Los Angeles lists Chelsea Wolfe at the theater on October 23.

Practical Details

Monday, October 26, doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m., Orpheum Theatre, 842 S. Broadway. KPFK lists tickets from $84 to $286. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster via Live Nation.
