Dialog Café Keeps Pouring on the Sunset Strip From Its New Home
After nearly 18 years on the Strip, the beloved café opens a residency at The Sun Rose West Hollywood while its original room is restored.

For nearly 18 years, Dialog Café has been the kind of place where the staff knows your order and the regulars know each other. When its original West Hollywood room needed a full restoration, founders Narbeh and Tadeh Ghazalian faced a choice. Close for a year or more, or find the café a temporary home. They found one a short walk away.
On October 3, Dialog Café opened a residency at The Sun Rose West Hollywood, the luxury hotel on the Sunset Strip at 8430 Sunset Blvd. The space has street-level access, so neighbors can walk in off the boulevard the way they always have. The café is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Less talk, more Dialog.
The brothers say the priority was continuity. The full Dialog experience made the move, from the cult-favorite breakfast burrito to the signature coffee drinks and smoothies. Executive Chef Gino Pineda, whose background includes Barbrix Wine Bar and All’Acqua, leads the kitchen. The menu keeps the familiar Los Angeles favorites while leaning into thoughtful, chef-driven preparation with farmers market produce, pasture-raised eggs, small-batch dairy and locally roasted coffee.
The Sun Rose has been on a culinary run. The Dialog residency follows the August debut of two rooftop concepts from SAGA Hospitality, Oleander, a Coastal Pacific-focused restaurant, and Yuhi, a 12-seat, 17-course omakase counter. General Manager Kris Umstattd called Dialog a beloved bedrock of the Sunset Strip community and said the hotel was thrilled to give it a home.
What happens to the original room
The restoration of Dialog’s original location is expected to take about a year or longer, though the timeline is still an estimate and no reopening date has been set. For now, the residency is the café. The founders have been clear that the regulars come first, and the new room is close enough that nobody has to change their routine.
Dialog’s philosophy has always been simple. Less talk, more Dialog. Eighteen years in, the conversation continues, just from a new address on the same street.
Getting there is easy. The Sun Rose sits on the Sunset Strip with street-level access to the café. Metered street parking and nearby lots serve the area, and the location is walkable from much of West Hollywood’s east side.
