Bob Odenkirk is spending Saturday afternoon on Hollywood Boulevard as a fan. On October 3 at 4 p.m., the actor will introduce Rumble in the Bronx at the Egyptian Theatre, a Beyond Fest screening billed as the theatrical premiere of Arrow Video’s 4K restoration of the 1995 Jackie Chan film.

The reason is simple, according to Beyond Fest’s head of programming, Evrim Ersoy. “Bob Odenkirk is coming to introduce ‘Rumble in the Bronx’ because he’s a massive Jackie Chan fan,” Ersoy told Variety, which listed the screening among the festival’s top titles still to screen.

Directed by Stanley Tong, the film casts Chan as Keong, a Hong Kong cop who visits relatives in a crime-ridden part of New York and soon finds himself brawling with Mafia kingpins. The American Cinematheque promises “the most eye-popping stunts ever filmed,” building to a finale in which Chan takes on a giant hovercraft. It runs 106 minutes, in Cantonese and English with English subtitles.

The afternoon lands on the final weekend of Beyond Fest, which partners with the American Cinematheque and screens across the Aero, the newly reopened Egyptian, the Los Feliz 3 and the Directors Village in Westwood. Variety reports that some 37,000 people are expected before it closes on October 5. That same Saturday night, Michael Mann premieres a new cut of Miami Vice in Westwood.

“The rep scene has never been better from an attendance standpoint,” co-founder Christian Parkes told Variety.

Tickets are $19, including a $2 online booking fee, at the Egyptian, 6712 Hollywood Boulevard.
