Fourteen Years of Lemonade, Los Angeles Chefs Fill UCLA’s Royce Quad for Childhood Cancer Research
L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade returns to Royce Quad at UCLA on Saturday, October 17, from noon to 4 p.m., with chefs, vintners and bartenders.

On Saturday afternoon the lawn in front of Royce Hall turns into one long tasting line. The 14th annual L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade takes over Royce Quad at UCLA on October 17 from noon to 4 p.m.
The cookout brings dozens of chefs, vintners, mixologists and breweries to Westwood to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which funds childhood cancer research, the Santa Monica Mirror reported. The event was founded by chefs and restaurateurs Suzanne Goin, David Lentz and Caroline Styne, who work with the foundation’s founders, Jay and Liz Scott.
The Kitchens
Time Out’s weekend guide promises “tastings from more than 60 award-winning chefs.” It names Goin and Lentz as hosts, alongside Michael Cimarusti, Nancy Silverton, Ori Menashe, Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, Jazz Singsanong and Ludo Lefebvre, among others. Silverton has a full weekend, since she also cooks at the Beverly Hills Autumn BBQ on Sunday.
The Money
The Mirror reported that the series has raised $12.5 million to date and that last year’s event brought in more than $1.3 million. General admission was $275 through September 1 and $300 after that, according to the Mirror. Time Out notes that a large portion of the ticket is tax deductible.
Practical Details
