Last Set of the Season, Jack Johnson Ends His SURFILMUSIC Tour at the Hollywood Bowl
Jack Johnson closes his 43-date North American tour with two Hollywood Bowl nights on October 10 and 11.

Jack Johnson will paddle in from a long summer on the road with two nights at the Hollywood Bowl, Saturday, October 10, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 11, at 7 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Hermanos Gutiérrez open both nights, according to the tour’s announced itinerary.
The shows close the SURFILMUSIC Tour, a 43-date North American run that opened June 19 in Gilford, New Hampshire, and is Johnson’s first tour since 2022, Pollstar and BroadwayWorld reported. Velvet also covered Three Solo Records Under the Shell, Hayley Williams Brings Her Show to the Hollywood Bowl.
The tour takes its name from a new documentary that traces Johnson from surfer to filmmaker to musician, by way of his early surf films Thicker Than Water from 1999 and The September Sessions from 2000. Kelly Slater, Rob Machado and the Malloy Brothers appear in it, according to Pollstar.
The music came with it. Johnson and Hermanos Gutiérrez wrote the film’s original score, and a companion double album, SURFILMUSIC Soundtrack and 4-Tracks, arrived May 15 on Brushfire Records. It pairs the score with remastered selections from Johnson’s early four-track recordings and previously unreleased material from his first songwriting years. Johnson recorded with the brothers alongside his longtime collaborator Mario Caldato Jr., who worked on In Between Dreams and Sleep Through the Static, Pollstar reported.
The Bowl’s listing counts eight studio albums and three live albums that have sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, and it says album proceeds, tour profits and his personal giving have sent more than $40 million to charity since 2001. The habit continues here. Two dollars from every ticket benefits the environment, with one dollar going to REVERB’s Climate Project Portfolio, BroadwayWorld reported, and each stop hosts the Village Green, a space for local nonprofits, according to Pollstar.
As always at the Bowl, glass, cans and alcohol are not allowed through the gate.
