Live Fire on Sunset, Gwen Turns Ten With a Firedoor Four Hands Dinner
Curtis Stone’s Hollywood restaurant hosts Sydney chef Lennox Hastie for two seven-course live-fire dinners on October 21 and 22.

Two chefs, one fire and seven courses. Gwen is marking ten years of service by welcoming Lennox Hastie of Sydney’s Firedoor to its kitchen on Sunset Boulevard for live-fire dinners on Wednesday, October 21, and Thursday, October 22, LAmag reported in its October food roundup.
The seven-course menu will include dry-aged Blackmore Wagyu and Westholme Wagyu striploin, according to LAmag. Firedoor bills the two nights as a meeting of Hastie and Gwen’s Curtis Stone, and says it is the first time the series has come to Los Angeles.
The Rare Tour Comes to Hollywood
The dinners are a stop on The Rare Tour. The tour’s own site says it is built around a four-handed dinner format, with more than 30 events delivered in cities from Buenos Aires, Miami, London and Singapore to Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney. Publisher Quadrille calls it the global four-hands series of Ekkehard Knobelspies, whose book World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants it lists for release this month.
The Hollywood nights land in a week of smoke around town. Three days earlier, Wolfgang Puck anchors the Beverly Hills Autumn BBQ on Sunday, October 18.
A Decade on Sunset
Gwen is the work of brothers Curtis and Luke Stone. Fine Dining Lovers describes a place that combines an old-world butcher shop with a Michelin-starred dining room centered on live-fire cooking, and the restaurant’s own site calls it a decade-long dream for the brothers.
