Fireworks and a Final Freeze, Charli xcx Plays Two Nights at the Kia Forum
The Music, Fashion, Film Tour plays the Kia Forum October 17 and 18, with underscores as special guest on both nights.
Charli xcx will bring the Music, Fashion, Film Tour to the Kia Forum in Inglewood for two nights, Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18. Special guest underscores joins, as on every date of the tour, and the Sunday show starts at 8 p.m.
The tour follows her album Music, Fashion, Film, released July 24 with the tracks “SS26” and “Rock Music.” Its artwork, shot by Aidan Zamiri, features John Cale, Marc Jacobs and Martin Scorsese, one name for each word of the title.
At Barclays Center in Brooklyn on September 14, Consequence’s Paolo Ragusa counted a 29-song set that opened with “Rock Music” and ran through all 11 tracks of the new album alongside older cuts like “Vroom Vroom” and “Track 10.” There were flame cannons and fireworks, including fireworks timed to the climax of “House,” her collaboration with John Cale.
The finale freezes the performers in a tableau as David Cronenberg’s voice tells the room, “They are dead, they are gone, nothing lasts forever, oblivion is freedom.” Then the lights die. Before the closing song, “No One Lasts Forever,” she reached for the catchphrase. “It’s Charli, baby,” she cooed.
Holders of Angel Tickets, the limited $20 seats sold in pairs, will learn their locations on the day of the show at box office pickup. After Inglewood, the tour moves to Glendale, Arizona, on October 21 and Las Vegas on October 23.
