Slide Guitar Under the Pantages Marquee, Bonnie Raitt Plays Two Nights in Hollywood With Jon Cleary
Bonnie Raitt closes her fall West Coast run at the Hollywood Pantages on October 20 and 21, with Jon Cleary opening.

A bottleneck will start singing on Hollywood Boulevard next week. Bonnie Raitt plays the Hollywood Pantages Theatre on Tuesday, October 20, and again on Wednesday, October 21, with Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen as special guest, according to the Broadway in Hollywood event page. Both shows start at 7:30 p.m.
The two nights close out a West Coast swing. JamBase reported that the fall tour covers nine dates from October 7 to 21 across California and Nevada, opening in Redding and ending with the Pantages pair. Raitt’s tour page lists the Rady Shell in San Diego on October 17 as the stop just before Hollywood, with Cleary and his band on every date it lists. Ultimate Classic Rock reported in March, when the dates were added, that the run would wrap with a multi-night stand in Los Angeles at the Pantages.
The Guitar and the Record
The Broadway in Hollywood listing calls Raitt “one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique.” It also notes that her 1989 album Nick of Time, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
She arrives two nights after The Outsiders ends its Pantages run on October 18. The theater’s events calendar has Jackson Browne booked for November 19 to 23.
