The orange blimp is coming to Beverly Boulevard. Alex Warren, the singer behind “Ordinary,” will host this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards, broadcasting live from Television City in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 14, Deadline, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter reported on Thursday.

It is a first for the show in more than one way. Officially titled CBS Presents Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, the 39th edition, as Variety counted it, will air on CBS for the first time, alongside Nickelodeon, at 8 p.m. Eastern and 5 p.m. Pacific, according to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter. It will also stream live on Paramount+ for Premium subscribers.

Warren arrives with the numbers behind him. Deadline reported that “Ordinary” has gone seven times platinum, held the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for 10 weeks and spent a record 16 weeks at No. 1 on U.S. pop radio. His debut album, You’ll Be Alright, went platinum and opened in the top five of the Billboard 200, and his catalog has passed 11 billion streams. He has already performed on the American Music Awards, the MTV VMAs and the Grammys, and Variety summed up the jump as going from TikTok to television.

The room he will be working is full of stars. Taylor Swift leads the individual nominees with six, followed by Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter with five each, across 36 categories that cover film, television, music, gaming and sports. Three categories are new this year, Watch Party, Favorite On-Screen Duo or Trio, and Favorite Clutch Player of the Year.

Television City, the studio complex CBS opened at Beverly Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in 1952, has been making television ever since. Musical performances and celebrity appearances will be announced later, and fan voting is now open at the official Kids’ Choice Awards site. Done and Dusted is producing the show.
